Traveling to The Bahamas

You may be wondering  how do you get to the beautiful country of The Bahamas, right? Well look no further I'm about to share many tips and information for the everyday traveler to make your experience on this Caribbean oasis a trip of a life time. Getting to The Bahamas is actually quite easy. It's a visa free destination, but you are required to present a valid U.S. passport when traveling. The only exception is if you were to take a cruise into The Bahamas, you're not always required to show a passport..

Now for currency it's actually really easy, you would take your US cash over to an exchange rate kiosk inside the airport or if you're lucky they have well known banks that also accept your bank card and will actually exchange the currency immediately. The Bahamian dollar isn't too far off from the US dollar, for example if you give them $5 us they will give you $5.01 in Bahamian dollars.

Now if you're looking to plan a trip here soon I found some great deals coming up this march from the Hartsfield Jackson Airport in Atlanta Georgia to Nassau Bahamas, if you wanted to do a roundtrip for two days with delta, lets say March 19-20 , Delta is offering flights starting at $309 non-stop, with a duration of 2hr 3m flight time. . If you wanted to go longer than that, lets say a week trip the prices would be the same. They cut back the prices due to COVID so I would take advantage of the opportunity.

Speaking of taking advantage of the low prices, once you get into Nassau after your long flight you can take a shuttle over to almost all the resorts in The Bahamas. Take the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Nassau for example, if you book a room through Expedia you could stay at a gorgeous hotel for only $170 a night. Or stay at the Bahamas top resort The Cove at Atlantis for only $400 a night.

Now that you've arrived and settled into your beautiful hotel there are many places you can go and visit and have a full day of fun with the family. There are some really exciting places to explore while in the Bahamas. The Sandy Toes Excursion to Rose Island is a great one for only $195.00 per adult. This is a boating cruise that allows you to go island hoping, snorkeling, and  if you're lucky you'll get a chance to swim with the pigs that are on the island. This will take up a chunk of your day being that it's 6 hours, but well worth the time. Now if you're looking for some fun attractions then Atlantis Island's water park is just for you. You go into this Egyptian like tower and once you get to the top you go down this beautiful waterslide that actually goes underneath the water and there's a clear tube you go through, to which you are surrounded by all the sharks and marine life inside the waterslide.

After all that excitement it's time to explore more of The Bahamas and unwind from the thrills. They have many museums you can go walk around and learn more about The Bahamas such as The Heritage Museum of the Bahamas which is rated #6 of 35 museums Bahamas has to offer. They offer an in depth look in the history from the pre-historic times to the present. Something interesting is they have artifacts from the days of Columbus, and the piracy era. If museums aren't your thing they also have great places to shop such as Tag Heuer Boutique, or if your not looking to spend lots of money you can go to the Marina Village rated at a #9 of 94 shopping villages, because they have a wide variety of places to shop at inside this outlet mall.

After a long day of shopping and exploring you'll build up an appetite so there's many great restaurants that are locally owned and made fresh daily options such as The Village Burger Shack located right next to the village, Anthony's Seafood & Ribs or if you wanted to eat at the Hotel, by the Holiday Inn you could check out The Salty Crab, or a nice dinner at Lukka Kairi Waterfront Bar and Grill which is rated #12 of 275 restaurants in Nassau. Prices are fair ranging from $15-$40 a plate.

For the total price of the trip including flights, shuttle, lodging, activities, shopping, and food the total comes out to be $1,317.50, prices will vary depending on food and shopping. Converted over to Bahamian dollars it will also be $1,317.50 because there isn't a high exchange rate for the Bahamas.
